Shogun of Time (Just For The Win): Review
Shogun of Time is a slot powered by Microgaming partners and independent studio Just For The Win. Combining elements of ancient Japan with advanced high-tech cyberpunk, the story centres around a female Samurai warlord and her alter ego, the cybergirl. Set in a futuristic version of Tokyo, it’s a rather simply crafted with no innovative ambitions. Starting with only 4 reels and 81 paylines, Just For The Win apparently thought it would be a great idea to remove the 5th reel in order for you to earn it by triggering the features. Sounds like a great deal to us. Not really.
Playable across all devices from between 0.10 and 100 Eur a spin, it comes with a set of neon-style A, K Q, J and 10 royals as well as coins, fans, chest-plates, face masks and Samurai helmets. Keep an eye out for the top valued game logo as 5 across a full payline will give you 12 times your bet. The Cyberpunk girl is the wild and is of the same value as the top symbol. Of course, it also performs all the typical substitution duties.
Shogun of Time (Just For The Win): Features
Landing a 4 of a kind winning combo in the base game triggers the Reel Split Re-spin. When this happens, all reels become locked in place and a 5th reel is added in the middle of the reel set which then re-spins, hopefully resulting in a greater winning combination.
It’s all about the free spin feature, however. For an invitation, land 3 or 4 scatter symbols to start with 8 or 16 free spins. With all 5 reels now in play, you will benefit from a pay-both-ways reel set and 243 win ways. Furthermore, the middle reel becomes a fully stacked wild, remaining locked in place throughout the feature.
