Pied Piper

Pied Piper: Overview

It sort of started with Sakura, which turned out to be a great success for Quickspin and might be regarded as one of their very finest productions. Not only was it a very beautiful slot to look at and play, but those massive looking Sakura Wild Reels sure makes your blood flow.

All we’ve know about this game up until now was the title, which at some point during production changed from Walking Piper, and not too unsual for Quickspin, it’s based on a classic old German fary tale. The Pied Piper of Hamelin is the title character of a legend from the town of Hamelin, which is illustrated by Arthur Rackham in 1934. The legend dates back to the Middle Ages, the earliest references describing a piper, dressed in multicolored (“pied”) clothing, who was a rat-catcher hired by the town to lure rats away with his magic pipe. When the citizens refuse to pay for this service, he retaliates by using his instrument’s magical power on their children, leading them away as he had the rats.

Pied Piper is a 5 reel, 4 row slot with 40 bet lines. There are 5 premium symbols, the top one being the symbol of the King which pays 10 times the bet for 5 of a kind. The lower 5 symbols are made out of the classic A, K, Q, J and 10. There is also a Wild symbol which substitutes for all other symbol except the Bonus symbol.

The Piper Wild symbol is a 4×1 stacked walking wild symbol and initiates the Piper Respins feature. The Piper Wild symbol is only present on reel 3, 4 and 5. The symbol is present in both the base game as well as in the bonus.

Pied Piper: Features

When a Piper Wild symbol lands fully on the reels, in Base game or in Free Spins, the Piper Respins feature is triggered. For each respin the Piper Wild symbol, and any Mouse Wild symbol present on the reels will walk one reel to the left.

There’s a chance of a Mystery retrigger on the final spin of the Piper Respins feature. The Piper will then enter the game on the rightmost reel to award 5 new respins.

The bonus is triggered by landing 3 Bonus symbols on reel 2, 3 and 4 and initiates 10 Free Spins. During the bonus, 1 to 6 guaranteed Mouse Wild symbols are randomly added to the reels on every spin. Together with the possibility of the Piper Wild landing makes up for some good win potential.

The slot is in the upper medium volatiliy index with an RTP of 96.32%. 27.27% of the RTP is allocated to the Bonus, 30,38% to the Piper Respins and 38,67% to the Base Game which makes this a fairly decent wagering slot. Bet size ranges from 0.20€ to 100€ and the chance of having a 100x win is 1 in 1302 spins.
