The Mask Slot: Introduction

The Mask is based on the movie with the same name, starring Jim Carrey and Cameron Diaz and was a box office success when released in 1994. There’s nothing too exciting about the symbols in this game and you find the typical setup of 5 low value symbols represented by A, K, Q, J and 10, as well as 5 premium symbols which are represented by the lead character Stanley Ipkiss, the supporting character Tina Carlyle, Stanley’s dog Milo, the iconic Yellow hat and bags of money. The game also includes a wild (Stanley’s alter ago – The Mask) and a scatter symbol. The wild is the most lucrative one, but unfortunately only pays 15x for a full line.
The Mask Slot: Features
The Mask includes 4 different features, which are randomly triggered in both the main game and the bonus:
- Alarm Block: a 2×2 wild block is added to the reels
- In A Spin: this feature can turn any symbols into wilds with up to 3 wild reels
- By The Horn: selected symbols are turned into wilds
- Mask Unmask: a 3×3 wild block is added to the reels
The Mask can also turn up randomly to trigger a bonus.
This game is all about the bonus and to trigger it players need to land 3, 4 or 5 scatters, which will then award 10, 15 or 25 free spins respectively, and allow entrance to the Coco Bongo nightclub. The free spins can retrigger and also randomly award 2x, 3x, 4x and 5x multiplier on any winning spin.
The best win possible is a full screen of wilds along with a 5x multiplier in the bonus, which pays 1500x. So theoretically this game has a 37,500x+ potential, although that is highly unlikely to happen and may even be capped at a certain max win.
