The igaming industry is certainly not immune to the progressive changes in our world. The female adventurer is not the only avant-garde part of this game, however. Sure, to nail the visual aesthetic, the developers had to eat humble pie and diligently study the genre to make it look and feel right to the audience. As a result, you get your traditional setting with temples, crystals and other theatrical properties that could very well have been stolen from the Indiana Jones set. Heck, there are even books in there. Visually, it certainly walks the walk, but it’s the engine at work here that’s the most compelling part of the narrative.

Central to the action in Vicky Venture is the crystal symbol. Whenever these appear on the reels, they summon the gods to activate the skull totem to the side of the reels – this is known as the Mystic Totem feature. Beams of energy are shot onto the reels to deliver matching symbols, significantly increasing your chances of landing winning combinations.
Furthermore, if you look above the reels you’ll see locked symbol positions – if any of these are hit by the totem energy beams, they will uncover wilds while also increasing the number of win ways. If you land several crystals, you can get both matching symbols and wilds combined. After the Mystic Totem spin has been played, any unlocked tile will relock and the game reverts back to its default setup again.
