Wild Swarm

Wild Swarm (Push Gaming): Introduction

Push Gaming is definitely one of the most interesting underdog game providers at the moment. They were likely unknown to most people before their big breakthrough with Tiki Tumble, and more recently, Fat Rabbit. Admittedly we didn’t know much about Push Gaming before we started seeing huge wins on Tiki Tumble being uploaded to Youtube and their games becoming included in every casino streamers setlist.

What Push Gaming took notice of, and what many other providers have failed to see, is that the demand for high volatility is at an all time high. They simply went out of their comfort zone to produce a slot with much more potential than anything they had ever tried before, and it worked!

Push Gaming went from being just another medium variance game provider that no one really cared about to become the most talked about provider in 2018, and at the moment the only provider that has potential to push (no pun intended) Big Time Gaming of the Ultra High variance throne.

Wild Swarm is a 5-reel, 4-row slot with 20 paylines and is playable on all devices from €0.20 to €100. It’s not as high variance as Tiki Tumble and Fat Rabbit, and the bonus frequency is much higher (due to it’s lower variance), but it does have some ok potential.

Wild Swarm is a very nice looking game with a relaxed feel to it. The quality of production is very high when it comes to both graphics and sound, with a fairy tale type forest showing in the background and fireflies dancing their way up towards the sky. There are many slot games with bee themes, but the first one that came to mind when we saw this one was Microgaming’s Pollen Party. The two slots are however very different in gameplay.

Wild Swarm comes with 4 low-value symbols made to look like wooden A, K, Q and J symbols. The top symbols are represented by flowers, honeypots and a queen bee. The Honey Dollar is the best paying symbol and awards 30 times your stake if you land 5 of a kind.

There are two types of wilds, one being a traditional wild symbol that appears in the main game, and the other a sticky wild which appears in the bonus and Swarm Mode feature only.

If a chest symbol lands anywhere, the Pick feature is triggered. The player is presented with five hidden instant prizes to pick from. The player selects one of the hidden instant prizes, and a prize is revealed and rewarded

During the main game, instant prizes include:

  • Win multipliers
  • Free Spins
  • Swarm Boost feature
  • Swarm Mode

During the free spins feature and Swarm mode features, instant prizes include: 1, 2, or 5 free spins, and Sticky wild enhancements which in turns include:

  • Shifting wilds: all sticky wild symbols shift one position to the left.
  • Expanding wilds: one sticky wild symbol expands vertically to fill the reel with sticky wild symbols.

Free Spins

If 3, 4 or 5 Hive scatter symbols land anywhere, the free spins game is triggered and awards 7, 10 or 14 free spins respectively. The free spins can also be triggered as an instant prize in the pick feature. In the free spins game, any sticky wild symbols that land anywhere are sticky and are held in position until the feature is over.

Collectable Bees

During the main game, if a bee symbol lands anywhere, the bee flies into the Hive, and is collected. A wild Honey symbol is left behind its place on the reels. When the Hive has reached the maximum level of 5, and a bee symbols lands anywhere, there is a chance that the Hive will explode, and Swarm Mode feature will be triggered.

Swarm Mode feature

The Swarm Mode feature is triggered when the Hive explodes, or if awarded in the pick feature. At the start of the Swarm Mode, a number of sticky wild symbols are added to the reels and 10 free spins are awarded. Just like in the regular free spins game, wilds stick to the reels throughout the feature. At the end of the Swarm Mode feature, a new Hive appears above the reels, with an initial level of 2, 3, or 4.
