Wolf Hunters Introduction
Wolf Hunters is a Video Slot produced by Yggdrasil Gaming with 5 reels, 3 rows, and 20 fixed paylines. It’s playable on all devices between €0.20 and €100 and is somewhere in the medium to high variance range. Visually, the game has a dark Immortal Romance kind of feel to it with a backdrop set against a dark Transylvanian type castle. The story revolves around two unnamed characters, the Hhunter, and Huntress, sent out to fight werewolves.
The game has 7 regular symbols that win if 3 or more are lined up in sequence on a payline. The Werewolf, which is the most valuable symbols, is worth 25x for 5 across a single payline. There is 1 Werewolf symbol that functions as a high pay symbol unless it is defeated at which point it transforms into a sticky wild. There is also a sticky wild symbol that always awards respins and 2 different Free Spin symbols that activate Free Spins.
Wolf Hunters Features
The Werewolf – The Werewolf is the highest paying symbol and can land on any reel. When it lands, a random hunter tries to hit it, if they succeed, the Werewolf symbol turns into a sticky wild and awards 1 respin. If the Hunter is unsuccessful then the Werewolf symbol acts as a regular high pay symbol. Each hit on the Werewolf decreases its life total by 1. When the Werewolf life total is reduced to 0/600, Slayer Free Spins are activated.
The Hunter and Huntress – When the Werewolf appears on the reels in the base game 1 random hunter tries to attack it. If successful, that hunter gets +1 Rage points. When either hunter gets 100 rage points, that hunter triggers their Rage Free Spin mode. When loading the game for the first time, a random hunter will receive X free rage points.
Wilds – Wilds can appear in the base game and in Free Spin mode. Each spin where wild land on the reels triggers a respin with all wilds as sticky. Wilds substitute all regular symbols.
There are 3 types of free spin modes in Wolf Hunters. In all Free Spin modes, both hunters may attack each Werewolf symbol (if available on the reels). When a Werewolf symbol appears, one hunter strikes, if unsuccessful, the second hunter steps in for a second chance. Landing 2 Free Spin Symbols in Free Spin mode awards 2 additional Free Spins.
- Hunter and Huntress Free Spin upgrades – Free Spin symbols can be collected during all Free Spin modes. Collecting 3 Hunter Free Spin symbols upgrades the Hunter and awards 2 Free Spins. Once upgraded, when the Hunter gets a hit on the Werewolf, the Werewolf turns into a wild which expands up and down by 1 reel position. Collecting 3 Huntress Free Spin symbols upgrades the Huntress and awards 2 Free Spins. Once upgraded, when the Huntress gets a hit on the Werewolf, the Werewolf turns into a wild which expands left by 1 reel position. The upgraded hunter always attacks the Werewolf first.
- Scatter Free Spins – Triggered by landing 2 Free Spin symbols in one spin in the base game. Players are awarded 10 Free Spins with the possibility of triggering more Free Spins.
- Rage Free Spins – 7 Rage Free Spins are awarded when any hunter collects 100 Rage points. In Rage Free Spins the enraged Hunter is upgraded for the entire Free Spin session and does not collect any more Free Spin symbols or rage points. After Rage Free Spins are complete the enraged Hunter’s Rage collection is reset to 0.
- Slayer Free Spins – 10 Slayer Free Spins are awarded when the Werewolf’s health bar is reduced to 0. Slayer Free Spins feature no Free Spin symbols and all Werewolf symbols are replaced with wild symbols on the reels. After Slayer Free Spins are complete, the Werewolf’s health bar is restored to 600.
